Imagine buying a slip of paper for one dollar, and being told that if you hold onto it for a few years, it will become $1.10
Now you buy a few bajillion of these for huge profit, and go to bed.
Then you wake up, and the news says anyone who bought the slip of paper for $1 will now only have 90 cents.

Bond yields (% return) are inversely related to bond prices. So when bond prices rise, bond yields drop. Bond yields are dropping a lot (11% in a day) so that means bond prices are going up. This signals much higher than normal demand for U.S. bonds. (2 year, short-term bonds). Basically, the market thinks that bond yields have peaked and that the FED will reverse course and turn the money printer back on. That's why things are green now and bonds are being bought up (because the highest earning bonds are the ones being sold right now before the FED reverses course).

You do realize that is the yield on the 2 Year Note and that it is dropping because so many people are buying the 2yr today?

You know that you still get the $1.10 when it comes due? You know how bond coupons work, specifically zero coupon bonds?

Yes. The yield drops when people pay a higher price for it. The yield doesn't effect bonds already issued either.

The real problem is that people are dumping European stocks and FOMOs into the dollar.

Holy shit you're fucking stupid, if bond yield drops then the bonds you bought goes up in value.
