Why do you think the government has started to crack down on crypto?
>Hint: its not because of ftx, luna, blockfi...etc

They know that the global economy is a sinking ship. They're currently faced with two options:
>A) lower rates and watch hyperinflation rape the dollar
>B) remain restrictive and watch the machine implode

They realize that the situation is terrible and we're doomed no matter what course they take. For this reason, they're starting to look into safe havens and alternative forms of investment. Cryptocurrency is very attractive right now. They've been engaged in a FUD campaign to keep regular people from buying, but notice how they haven't tried to implement an actual ban?

They want to be able to buy/sell crypto themselves and the fud campaign just gives them more time to accumulate. Anons, do what the elites are doing and BUY CRYPTO WHILE IT'S CHEAP

Yeah, nothing says "safe haven" like a 'currency' that can't buy anything, isn't supported by any government, isn't backed by anything, and costs money just to transfer between accounts. It's purely speculative nonsense, purchased only and entirely out of the belief that eventually someone else will be willing to buy it for more. Mammon itself cast into silicon.

It's a safe haven because it's detached from the current system. Would you rather have your wealth in a hardware wallet that you own or in a failed bank like SVB?

Retards like you are why I still invest in it. Too dumb to see that once the value of something has been proven all of the potential gains will have been dried up. You'll be buying crypto eventually, it's just a matter of how late in the game you'll do it

This. Bitcoin was created by the CIA as controlled opposition. Notice it doesn't have any privacy by design.

No it isn't. Literally everyone in BTC is only in BTC as a vector to try to turn dollars into even more dollars. It's a speculative asset, and more bluntly, a bigger fool's scam. And when the macroeconomic conditions demand that investors sell assets to generate cash in order to cover the costs of other losses, bitcoin is the first thing on the "sell this garbage" list.

Bitcoin wasn't created by the alphabet boys but certainly true privacy has been impossible since all the exchanges submitted to federal regulations 10 years ago

This is the crux of your misunderstanding. You see crypto as another stock rather than an alternative to the global financial apparatus.

That's because that's what it is, how people see it, and how it's used. Well not a stock, since while a stock is ultimately representative of fractional ownership of a business which (hopefully) has at least some genuine net value, bitcoin is just pure speculation. Yes, cryptocurrency was intended to be an alternative to traditional financial exchange, and that is actually how it was used for the first few years when the exchanges weren't regulated (albeit, almost exclusively to buy and sell drugs). But ever since 2013-2014, the entire cryptocurrency market has been nothing but people buying bitcoin in order to hopefully sell it to someone for more USD later. Whether you see it as a "stock" or wish that's how it was seen is irrelevant, because that's how the overwhelming of people who buy and sell bitcoin perceive it and treat it.

You just don't understand. People do treat crypto as an investment vehicle, yes, but people value crypto because it gives them total control over THEIR wealth.

Believe it or not, people do not want oppressive governments or incompetent banks to have a say in how they use their wealth. This freedom is going to become even more valuable to people as more banks buckle under the current financial crisis

>> No.54066654

>>54066528
The entire cryptocurrency market dumped 10% over a single garbage west coast tech bank rolling over. Now it's pumped back up because the FDIC said they might be able to make uninsured accountants whole, a pump that's already fading as people realize that they never promised anything and that it would drain all of the FDIC's funds and so they're obviously not actually going to do it and hope that just by saying they might they could reduce bank runs.

Nobody actually believes in crypto as an alternative to finance. They see it as a tool to make money. Your true believers do not fucking exist, it's just scammers looking for suckers.

Believe what you want, anon.

I do believe in crypto's potential as a parallel financial system. I think it's only going to grow once the current system fails and we're past the ensuing fallout.
