>Corona
Bad, real bad, couldn’t work in Asia right after finishing a Master’s geared towards that goal, lost some money on overall chaos, gained some money via crypto
>’08 II: electric boogaloo
pretty comfy thus far thanks to esoteric knowledge from frogposters on a Paraguayan coffee critiquing image board

i have a bunch of Bic lighters because of eastern european experiences with collapse, which should come in handy as 400 million firearms find insolvent, hungry hands in the USA soon.

This was the beginning of the great reset. The end of the carefree world. 911 was the end of the 90's, the end of an era. I can't even put into words how different the world was before and after.
>08 crash
The end of easy money. Before the crash the trade I was in(hvac) was going gangbusters. Every company had more work than they had workers. You could quit your job Friday, and have another on Monday. After the crash, work dried up significantly. I remember talking to a guy who worked at the supply house and he told me they were doing less business than ever in 08. There was no recovery, every company shrank, and the whole idea of job security died in 08. The real economy never recovered.
>Covid
Here we go again. This didn't affect me much because I've lived and worked through 2 reset events already, actually retired from crypto during this time. More of the same, scare people, they do whatever you want, you vill own nothing, blah blah blah

Parent loses job

Lmao I'm literally a shut in borderline neet with a perma secure job
>'08 Numbah 2
I didn't care, I got out after the Corona "recovery" inflation spike. Anybody who saw this circus not crashing needs to get their head checked.

Also, Jerome Powell is the single most BASED individual of all time who IS restoring the American dream to ALL Americans.

Too young to realize wtf had happened and its significance.
>08
good times for me mostly. I was young and slaying pussy
>Corona
Both amazing (bull market) and suicidal times (bear market) all in isolation, so it was kinda weird. I kinda memoryholed it.
>23
Shit looks fucked. The thing is that things don't happen fast with this kind of thing it's a slow pain across time. Boiling frog type thing I guess. I'm all in USDC. I just need to make it out of that and I'll be stellar.

Too young, but got scared of something similar happening, and household finance was fucked up irrespective of global economy.

Hit hard in my country but not at home. Went from being the poor kid to being comparatively alright.
>Corona
The first crash was tough and I lost all my income, then I got more money in the bullrun than in my whole life, and managed to keep a decent chunk til today.
>23
Bring it on!

Spent the next 5 years watching military contractors get rich as fuck doing some masturbatory imperialism. Thought the culture would wake up and shut down the corruption but there was so much buy in that no one could do shit. News anchors, actors, and politicians were getting shit canned for even saying maybe we shouldn’t bomb so many people. The 90’s were paradise in comparison but it was already collapsing under the free trade neoliberal agenda.
>2008: bombs, bailouts, and bill oreilly
Banks fucked up. I graduated high school and there were no jobs. Unpaid internships everywhere. The housing market wasn’t far behind the crash as foreclosures led to huge inventory. The war(s) became bombing runs organized by mercenaries. The military budget began to balloon because nobody made anything within the government anymore. Everything became subcontractors on subcontractors. Things slowly got better until
>The Wuhan Lab Leak and Orange Bad Man
Forgiven PPP loans where 1/5 of the money didn’t even go to US companies. The largest tax cut in history that raised taxes on the poor and working class, that required a 3.5 % GDP growth for the next 5 years to pay off. Giving up mining contracts in Africa leading to 0 innovation in new green energy. Green energy had become more profitable than coal but instead we subsidized coal and oil which artificially supported everyone’s retirement accounts. Subsidies to onions and corn with China tariffs. Then wuhan fucked up and we are living in this fucked up situation now.

Personally I have fought to get a bullshit career in healthcare saw my pay stagnate. Watched my 401k tank. Lost my job during the pandemic and am now in school for my second degree while having 2 kids at home. I have no money, no career and am still about 100,000 in debt from student loans and car payments between my wife and I. So in other words piracy is looking pretty good right now with this financial cliff we are on.
