Honestly mate, good question. I'm an old fag that bought around 1 BTC and sent it to a hard wallet 5+ years ago now.
Liquidity pools and all that shit is exactly where my knowledge ends. I understand the theoretical basis of crypto as a CS grad, but that's about it. Yet, the way things are unfolding, I'm honestly OK with that.
In my head, I am equating this to market-selling into 0 volume and getting bent by market makers with buy orders down in the pennies. I think that's good enough.

3crv is a token that represents the liquidity a user has provided to the "3crv" pool (which consists of the 3 tokens USDC, DAI, USDT)
Instead of removing his liquidity through the Curve website, he used a dex aggregator to swap his 3crv tokens to USDT. Because next to no one trades 3crv outside of Curve, there was very little liquidity, so that user got raped.
