Silicon Valley Californians might as well be a foreign country, a lot of them are socialists who constantly hate on America and most of its taxpayers, and a bunch of them are literal foreigners. Financing Ukraine supports US global dominance and deters contagion and the spreading of crisis, so the national interest argument applies equally to both.
