I work at usps, I’m 31. I make a bit over 30 an hour and I cleared 80k last year. High school dropout. I have a part time job once a month bartending also. I will never be rich here and the job leaves much for soul. I have little purpose besides getting people their cheap Chinese garbage they buy online and from Amazon. Pros are I get a pension, I get 4 weeks of annual leave a year, good benefits, match 401k, yearly raises, inflation raises, and a union that is ok. Cons are I will never achieve greatness and see my life slowly aging every day. Could be worse I suppose

This reminds me of when I crashed my car drunk when I went back to college. Then I got a minimum wage job and had yo ride the bus while I finished my DUI classes
2 hours every 2 am and 2 hours back home every noon
I was in my late 20’s and wss was noted to kill myself
Things are much better now, I found Bitcoin and then got 2 jobs and saved enough to buy my own place in just 4 years of trading shitcoins

you think the programmer making $100k or $150k a year lives any different from you? they still have the 30 year mortgage and are slaves even after work. when I was a devops I was constantly stressed. always working. I hated it. after I came home I was still trying to solve problems and thinking of ways to solve something. its terrible and the payment is only slightly higher than the average job. if you make what is considered a "good wage" here in the top 10% of earners you STILL slave for 30 to 40 years. just like the guy who earns half as much as you. relax. is your job comfy? are you not stressed? that's the important part.

The job is cool for about 9 months and then three months I’m working 60 hour weeks of hard physical labor. I clock in at 3am and leave at 3pm. Like I said my pay is 62k a year. I cleared 80 last year. Right now it’s chill. Clock in at 4am and leave at 12:30. Work bymyself for most of the day listening to audiobooks. It keeps my brain from turning into mush since my entire job is moving a box 20 feet then repeating that for hours.
