Every white in the field knows about this. I am a programmer and lately my indian manager has become insufferable. He micromanages more and more, becomes impatient without understanding the design I'm following, and now wants me to attend a company training session in receiving feedback. I'm about to tell him to fuck off. Almost snapped today but just turned off my chat for the whole day.

What's the best way to de-escalate this situation without jeopardizing my job? (it's mostly remote and I like it otherwise). Every other manager I've had has been fine (and white).

I feel you. I am a TPM and majority of my devs are based out of Europe and India and I don’t have a problem with the Indian devs, but I have Indian functional counterparts and they are just terrible to work with. They are impatient, jump from topic to topic, don’t understand AGILE. It’s very frustrating. The devs themselves are alright but we’re doing mostly SQL so there isn’t a lot of elegance in the code or anything…

Idk, I don't think it's an Indian thing, it's just a your mileage may vary situation. My Indian PM is hands off, the most annoying person at my work is my senior 2 coworker who lives to code and create work for the rest of us despite not having the authority to do so.
