I'm not sure what's going on. The "jobs report" is still indicating strength, but I've noticed a good amount of white collar layoffs. Some people I know personally, also I'm suddenly getting added by strangers on LinkedIn with #opentowork hashtags on their profile pics which has never happened before. Strange shit.

The ai revolution is starting. All white color jobs will be gone in 20 years. The only way to avoid being poor, is to change the system, and force the mega wealthy to pay all the taxes. Companies are like consumers. They usually rely on the ability to use debt to purchase a lot of things including employees. Right now interest rates on borrowing are high because the fed is still trying to curb inflation and still failing. So the fed keeps raising rates incrementally. This pushes the cost of borrowing even higher. Companies that are already saddled with debt could have a harder time getting refinanced or new loans. So they put a freeze on hiring if they can't afford it and just try to coast until rates come back down and the fed turns the money printers back on.

What others have already said. The jobs report doesn't report raw numbers, but actual vs. "expected" job numbers. You can get any number you want out of it if you adjust the expected number downward.

I don't know, and honestly it worries me because I can't find a job anywhere. I am an engineering graduate with a specialization in automotive audits and it is being impossible for me to find a place because most of the big and medium sized centers ask for at least five years of experience which is obviously impossible for me to have. Next month my monthly payment from the government is due and I won't be able to get another one, so I will be reduced to the money I get from my investment in $HAMI and $MAGIC and other reward currencies in arbitrum. According to my calculations I would be living on $5k a month which should be enough for the moment, but I hope the damn recession ends soon because I can't go on living like this, I didn't waste YEARS of my life studying for nothing.

Did you actually look at the jobs report? We've been bleeding out full time jobs like your white collar ones for years. Only part time jobs, i.e. low wage service jobs, are being added.
