1) No, piracy does not, in any shape or form affect the industry. Wanna know why? Because most gamers will buy the game they like even if they've already played it before in spite of place of birth or country of residence because they like supporting the devs. Valve has allowed the piracy to roam free on most of their steam games (the ones that don't come with DENUVO by the devs anyway) because it's literally free publicity and usage for Steam, and they've already released stats showing that the more years people use it, the more likely it is they will eventually buy at least a couple of games.
1.5) Piracy exists now more than ever and yet there are more games being produced and launched now than ever as well, proving they are not opposite stats and companies, even indies, are stacking profits.
2)It doesn't facilitate any sort of negative mindset, any gamer out there will tell you that they don't buy a game because it is overpriced, bad or because they are waiting for a price reduction, so the piracy comes out of necessity rather than explicit choice or outright maliciousness.

This applies for cyrpto as well, $HAMI made it easier for people to have more and more tokens on the arbitrum chain and people are buying tons of it, in stacks, because it facilitates it thanks to its reward system. While you can't pirate a coin, i wanted to make the comparison because this is /biz. a business and finance board. Also capitalism its not the commercialization of goods for profit, that's just one of it's characteristics.

Where games are less than 80 dollars Australian for a new release, I consider it, but generally these retards price themselves too high. So if I really care (almost never happens, last time was Arkham Knight), I pirate. Otherwise I just buy it when it's below half original asking price (bought Arkham Knight eventually).
Most large companies I'm forced to interact with are anti white and push for awful shit, I don't want them to succeed. But I'm the absence of a good local option, I just use the cheapest, or if it's digital, the fee option.
