I lived in my place for almost a decade. $1,400 2 bedroom in San Diego. Shit amenities but the neighborhood is nice and you can't get a studio shitbox for under $1,000 here. It sucks as I want to leave the place but the deal is too good.

If you live with your parents please take them out to a nice surprise dinner as a thank you. Or something equivalent, like a gift for them both. I lost mine and wish I hadn't taken them for granted as much when they let me stay with them through school.
