>no healthcare tax/premiums

Just income.. they take home about 50k gbp.

Rent probably like 2k a month for something nice. Food is cheap in the UK.

Its not like the US where you get paid $300,000 and spend $270,000 on taxes/healthcare/mandatory pension/food/fuel for your long commute/rent

Remember that this salary attracts the following deductions:

>40% tax rate on earnings over ~43K (to be sent to Ukraine to advance trotskyite neocon agenda)
>13.25% NI tax (to pay for boomer pensions and tiktok nurses)
>Mandatory contribution to a downgraded for millenials/zoomers CS pension scheme that will be bankrupt within the next decade or two, i.e. before you collect it (possibly to be resolved by simply cancelling for White men who have all profited from centuries of racial and gender injustice)
>Council tax, even paid if renting (to pay for housing asylum seekers diversifying your local area)
BBC tax (TV Licence to pay for propaganda)
20% VAT on all purchases
Road Tax if car owner
Mandatory car insurance (where the cost of 20yo albanians and pakistanis crashing BMWs whilst high on coke is amortised into your payments)
>Graduate tax on highest mean student loan burden in the entire world (yes, even higher, as an AVERAGE, than USA)

Also will need to pay one of the highest rents in the entire world in London, or £8K a year for a railcard to commute into London whenever there isn't a strike

Don't worry though, the job will go to a more derving woman/gay/immigrant/all of the above anyway

You couldn't be more wrong. They lose around 40% to NI/income taxes (it's a progressive tax, cba to figure out exact % on that salary). Then property taxes that they have to pay even if they're renting. Then a BBC and car tax. Then a de facto graduate tax on massive student loans EVEN if they went to equivalent of a US community college (which they will, since Oxbridge/UoL no longer want White men). Then another 20% of whatever they have to consumption taxes (VAT), oh and a fuel tax that is something like 100% if they drive. Then they have to go private for healthcare if they aren't literally dying, since anything that isn't explicitly fatal will have a 2 year+ waiting list. Plus private dentistry, unless they win the golden ticket to an NHS dentist (which also still charges, just less). Then rampant inflation. Then a pension scheme that will go bankrupt long before they can collect it. Oh, and some of the highest property prices/rents in the world, even outside of London, unless they live in the equivalent of the US fentanyl belt. Plus the even more rampant inflation in energy bills, due to a decade of useless green initiatives and proxy war with Russia.

Food is surprisingly cheap and good quality though, agreed. Although most English are goyslop-consuming cretins who don't take advantage of that.

The only winning move in the UK is to run up student debt, take out loans, and then immediately fuck off somewhere else and never pay it.

45% on everything after.
You dont get taxed 40% on a 65k salary because you’d take home 39k while someone on 54k would take home 43k with how you think it works. Why make such a long post on something you don’t understand?

You pay no tax on the first 12k 20% on the next 43k(55 minus 12) 40% on the last 10k For a 65k salary

It's not considered a top salary. It's a middle manager role in the civil service that's just below senior level. At that level the civil service equivalent salaries start becoming really shit compared to the private sector.

After tax salary for that position is around £3,430, or £250 less if you have student loans. The pension is defined benefit and is just over £1400 added to your pension pot (paid every year after you retire) per year of work (where you contribute 7.35%).

If you want to live on your own and work in London you have to pay more than £1000 in rent and more on travel. So unless you live with your parents, a partner, or somehow are on the housing ladder, you won't save very much at all.

If I WFH in some Midwest area, I could probably be putting 50% away and retire in 10 years as a multimillionaire
