Nobody here will believe me, but there was a startup called jet.com that had a contest for bringing in new customers pre-launch (they did not have to buy anything, just enter their email and confirm. I was in college and sent an email to the entire student body with my link. The college freaked out and I was almost kicked out. I just barely managed to get into the top-10, so I was eligible for stock options from the company. Then a year later jet.com was bought by Walmart. I got about 800k for my options. It was great, but I lost half to taxes. Then I lost half again when my wife divorced me because she wanted to spend it all on cars and vacations. So in the end I netted about 200k for sending a single email in 2015

I was given 0.02 - 0.05% of the total supply of multiple 2017 ICOs for simply translating their whitepapers while at work.
We're not just talking lowcap shitcoins that went nowhere, but also stuff like crypto.com (then Monaco), Aeternity, and many others that went into the hundreds of millions/billions.
I sold $1000 worth of MCO tokens that were worth $60,000 the next week though. I have the tendency to sell early, but in hindsight, this might have saved me plenty of times.
