Jessie made & lost multiple fortunes both long & short. He used leverage a lot & most his strategy revolved around pyramiding up. The way this tweet is worded to make out he suffered mental problems due to the 1929 crash is lame. He suicided because of his wife.

>After the crash of the U.S. stock market in 1929, he jumped into the market again, but the market continued to fall, resulting in losses.

Soon, his wife divorced him and squandered his property, and he declared bankruptcy again.

The following year, the divorced wife shot the eldest son during a drunken quarrel, causing his eldest son to be disabled.

where retards are going on about the national debt
this is not the crisis looming on the horizon - it is that everyone is up to their eyeballs in debt with record high inflation - this is the recipe for stagflation, where the consumer cannot afford to go out and spend in the economy; their entire paycheck is going to their rent (which is also at all time high over 30% of income) and servicing their debt. the consumer cannot spend if they spend their entire paycheck on debt service
this is not even talking about the crisis when there is a modest uptick in unemployment, and all of these people are delinquent / default on their debts
>muh national debt
this is a strawman that is being created now in /smg/ - the national debt is not the crisis, and nobody gives a fuck
it's the threat to the consumer

if you make a currency deflationary (increases value over time) then you are discouraging spending.

inflationary pressure encourages you to either spend it or invest it. it also has the added benefit of reducing the value of debt, making it easier and less risky to borrow. MMT advocates admit printing may cause price increases as the currency supply growth outpaces growth of goods and services, the fix for which is supposedly to raise taxes (i.e. stop deficit spending).

Ofc the entire exercise is disingenuous cover for tricking people into printing and simply living with inflation: aka become Argentina. They deliberately play jewish games around insisting that the goods availability is quite elastic and productivity will grow to meet demand, to justify printing, IOW they pretend the printer can run for a while long before we see inflation because 'automation and stuff' (lolno). Also they pretend they don't know that the government would need to tax the wealthy to stop printing, and it has never succeeded in doing that because the wealthy run that shit, and so continued descent into LatAm is the inevitable result.

Metals (esp gold) move with oil, oil moves with money supply. Occasionally oil supply has a problem and grows well past money supply, but that's not happening now really. 2021-22 was just oil catching up to M2 and stabilizing. The fintwit people talking 300$ oil and underinvestment and ESG are carnival barkers who manage to do everything but look at a very simple graph of US oil production heading back up.

Otherwise I agree high risk free return kills equities. But the rates aren't sustainable and with effective M2 declining also commodities are gonna get fucked. Only winners here are short term treasuries and equity shorts.

Inflation is bad for everyone outside of maybe two specific circumstances
>Government using it as an additional tax
which doesn't work well since it will also drive up yields on raising new debt. I guess it works as long as the government is keeping spending restrained at the same time
>It helps the brokest motherfucker
This only occurs when the labour market tightness is causing wage demand spiral as we are seeing right now. Five-ten years ago you would expect to make 7.50 starting for many jobs. Now the expectation is 12+ for those same jobs.

Dude, being a general manager / store manager (or whatever analogous title) at these big chain stores is a fucking insanely hard job.

You hear those stories about how you can become a Walmart, Buc-ee's, McDonalds, Costco, etc etc store manager and make 150k+ without needing a college degree. People can literally be HS dropout retards who eventually make six figures after just a few years of working in these chain stores.

The catch? Being a manager for these stores is an INSANELY grueling job. You have to be on call 24/7 essentially, you have to wrangle a team of wagie retards. You have to learn how to do a huge assortment of filing and accounting tasks. You have to learn how to communicate with corporate, HR, and other franchises. And to reiterate the "on call 24/7" part, you basically have to make sure things operate smoothly for your store from the minute you open until you close.

So yeah, you can technically become one of those "I was a dropout drug addict with no education or job experience who then turned my life around after working at Walmart for a few years and became the store manager and I make six figures now" stories....but the fact is that the type of people who work those jobs have to be on top of their shit all day long. Need to be very high functioning tbhonest.

With good risk management, position sizing and trade psychology, you can actually become profitable in the long term off of coinflips. At the very least, those are going to be the biggest barriers to any trading system in the long run. After you have that down, everything just starts compounding your gains.
So having said that, that's why you wait for confirmation - the trend will LIKELY continue more often than it fails (source: my ass), thereby giving you > 50% edge
