If only survivors were included, then it would not really reflect the reality of smallcap investing. I've mentioned it before, but there are two good options I see right now if you really want exposure to Russia.

First is CEE, which is a closed end fund that is still publicly trading with a general East Europe focus. They have a lot of Russian exposure that'd been written down as zeros on their books but they're still sitting on it.
Second is VEON. This is not directly Russia related though, as they're selling their Russian operations and that transaction closes within a few months. It was pushed down in the Russia invasion selloff though, and could still see upside once that Russian portion of the business is offloaded.
