Silver yes. But I've spent equal amount on gold and silver. I'd like to think I'm a bit of a safe investor so I've done 50:50. You can allocate more to silver if you are adventurous. Don't buy gold is smaller units, < 1ozt. The premiums on sub 1ozt is crazy. For silver too, try to get a bigger bar to get more metal for your monies.

Personally I buy from europabullion and there's no taxes on silver there.

I bought 50:50 in gold and silver. Silver has higher premium in general (money you pay above spot to cover transportation and minting fees) but you get a large stack of metals getting into silver which is always fun. Also most gold you get is 24 karat so you need to keep it in Capricorn l capsules so it won't get scratches up.

Depends on which country you are

Unfortunately as a fellow eurofag you get fucked on the VAT when you buy .999 silver. However, you do get part of the premium you pay back though too so that is a plus. What people mean when they day silver is under valued is the GSR. Naturally when you mine, for every gram of gold, you'd find 16 grams of silver. But the price is at 1:84, so silver is the better buy right now, but take that with a pinch of salt as you'd have to very long back in history to see them trade at fair value. Here is a old circulated one and an mint strike one. I think they hold pretty well due to te relatively deep letters and higher copper levels, .833 silver for these coins

Nice. I hope if we ever go back to silver coinage the US has a solution for the very real wear problem. Although granted it could just be age old Amerimutt tendency to act like a rampaging baboon all the time American silver coins always seem so massively worn compared to the circulated silver of other countries. I have no doubt the high silver purity had something to do with it, maybe either an alloy that includes nickel or an outer brass ring like the Mexican 10 and 20 pesos

Glad I waited this week instead of last week, already placed an order myself
Since trading is gonna close later today, I'd say today is a good bet. With recent current events around the world, I would say by Monday prices will spike up again so now you can get a nice discount on precious metals.
Also a lot of speculation of precious metals spiking if Russia launches another offensive since that is what happened last year, among other factors.

>all the time American silver coins always seem so massively worn compared to the circulated silver of other countries.
American Silver simply spent more time in circulation compared to its counterparts. After WWI, Europe changed money so often that their coins almost never got beyond a decade or two worth of wear, which was compounded by the fact that they only used Silver in higher denominations of coinage which circulated less.
If you compare coins of similar value which spent the same amount of time in circulation (for example a 1910 US Quarter and an 1869 Franc), both coins will be nearly slick from half a century of use. Lower purity Silver is also more durable than higher purity stuff, hence why German and Austrian coins that circulated from the 50s until the 70s don't appear as worn as their higher purity counterparts, but above 80% Silver, everything wears out at roughly the same speed.

We do too in the UK, but we also produce charlie coins now as well. I'm buying up queenie ones before they're gone. All this changing over of money that happened with the adoption of the Euro meant that people are disconnected from their nations' histories more than they've ever been.
Before 2001 you had people interacting with coins that had actual historical depth to them, but now they're just potmetal tokens with homogenous designs.
>France using century old designs on coins dating back to the 60s
>Germany, where you could still find money from the tail end of Allied occupation in your change
>The Netherlands using a currency dating back over 700 years where it was still possible to occasionally find Silver in circulation
>Spain, with Franco era Pesetas still in use
>Austria, where you could still occasionally find Silver in circulation
With ordinary people interacting with only a few bland coin designs from the past 20 years it helps cement in their minds an idea of a sort of eternal present. Sure coins had been deteriorating into ugly shitmetal slop ever since the WWI, but at least pre-Euro, you could see the decline firsthand in most European Countries.

https://www.apmex.com/product/62130/100-oz-silver-bar-engelhard

They’re 2400$ on APMEX so I’d counter him there at least. I can’t justify anything past a kilo if only for the simplicity of actually moving silver vs a monstrous hunk of god rocks.

With that said, every anon on /pmg/ needs a loaf of silver or copper to defend themselves with in times of chaos. Beating nigs to death with a 300 oz copper bar when the bullets run out is peak /pmg/.

Also, true Englehard numis nerds distinguish by stamp pattern on the bar. It's a cray niche that I avoid. Exaclty:
