Spent $4500 to make $1300, after 4 months that's barely breaking even after factoring other parts then it's 2 months for another $2600 then the gpus fry. Was it worth the time you waited for it and time spent learning how to do it? How much money could you make in 6 months with oh idk a job?

>she should get a job instead of letting a machine make money for her while she presumably does anything else, possibly including a job
>coming out $3300 ahead within six months on a $4500 investment on an hour or two of labor is bad
>the gpus will definitely fry in six months, no way that they last longer than that, and it doesn't matter that she turns a 73% profit in the arbitrary time limit that I set
>nevermind that if it runs for a year because she managed to not fry her rig she'll have around a 247% profit on her initial investment

you don't have to fry a gpu running a rig. the shittiest part about mining is how much electricity it uses, so unless you have solar panels and pay little for electricity where you're at, it's hard to justify. Add that to the fact that we are in the bear market and you probably don't want to sell your mined coins, and you are also going to be taxed on the coins you do generate as they are considered income, and those costs really start adding up. You have to have good startup capital, and be in a position to not have to pay it back for at least a couple years.

The way difficulty adjustment works, the cost to mine 1 BTC (or whatever coin) hovers around 1 BTC, averaged over the energy cost of the network. So, mining is effectively a call option on whatever coin you're mining. It coin price is flat or declining, you need an energy cost better than the average network energy cost.

I don't care about anything else you said but stop perpetuating the false narrative that cards that have been used to mine are in any way worse off than a gpu that was used for gaming. Unironically believing this makes me think you're also vaxxed and show your receipt at the door after doing the store's cashier work for them.

There was a thread where someone recognized her apartment as being in a really expensive part of Ontario (I think it was). apparently, she has a lot of money somehow. There was also a tiktok video where she destroyed the apartment with a sledgehammer because she was moving out and seemed pretty insane.

This. It's basically a woman's formula of success on social media. Step 1, find a male dominated niche. Step 2, start making tiktoks and IG posts about entering the niche. Step 3, collect money from advertisers to shill their products and collect donations from simps. Works every time.

I have computers that have been crunching for BOINC pretty much decade straight, GPUs usually last at least 3 years like this, some have been going on for 7 years, the only parts that seem to be affected by heavy usage are bearings on the fans but a drop of sewing machine oil usually fixes the rattling which usually develops after 2 years of 24/7 usage at close to 100% fan speed
Since I do this for epeen and steal most of my electricity I don't care about electricity costs thus don't care about undervolting/underclocking like miners do, mining cards will go for way longer than they would be profitable
