It could. Chainlink will provide truth verification / security and projects like Fetch.AI will provide services speed up the transition to real world AI services. I really think we are living in a transition time similar to when the printing press was invented and put into use. The next couple years will be exciting to watch.

Nope. It's gonna doom us all. The first viral self propagating AIs are being written as we speak and learning to write themselves to more effectively identify and exploit vulnerabilities.
