Inefficient how? You as in time it takes to transact? I guess it depends on your process. I typically keep a small amount in Cake Wallet on my phone separate from my main stack. From there I can transact pretty quickly on the fly either directly or via the gift card function.

Has anyone ever had any issues with cake wallet? I transferred some xmr to it a few days ago and now it's just gone. There are no inbound or outbound transactions showing up so I don't think I got hacked. I tried restoring from an earlier blockheight but that didn't fix it either.

I use it as a hot / intermediary wallet all the time. I've never had an issue with it. Barring any fuck ups with the address you sent it to, maybe uninstall and reinstall. Also you can try restoring in the Monerujo wallet and see if it works there.
