Should I trademark my brand before I launch my kickstarter or is it safe to do it afterwards? I'm a little low on funds. Or do you think a loan would be reasonable?

ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS TRADEMARK YOUR FUCKING BRAND BEFORE YOU LAUNCH A N Y T H I N G.
if you do not, people can and will bootleg your shit and they can and will ruin your reputation. TRADEMARK that shit NOW.
>kickstarter
also probably going to go nowhere. Look for actual funding by real investors; or get a loan and be prepared to go bankrupt.

Noted! What if TM approval takes time? Should I launch anyway?

Not the case. I have several Marks and the #1 thing that gives you legal protection is being operating and "known". #2 is owning the Mark.

You can set up shop and begin selling whatever it is you're selling while the trademark application is in process. In fact, it's easier to get the application approved if you can demonstrate that you already produce or market goods with the trademark on them.

do i HAVE to hire a fucking lawyer to get a trademark? can i just do this shit myself?
