If you’re American you can usually find unlisted companies on a “pre ipo”/private equity exchange website, they do check for accredited status but you might be able to bullshit that? There are tons of canadian stocks below $400M marketcap. If you use interactivebrokers you just have to allow trading in Canada.
If you mean OTC stocks, then there's not much you can do assuming you're not accredited (I assume it's similar to trading OTC in the US, canadian OTC stocks haven't peaked my interest so far).
I am accumulating two illiquid Canadian pennystocks atm, they're not super interesting but it's something.
Honestly though, fuck Canada.
Start looking on the Polish stock market, lot's of interesting small cap gems there.

It's going in one direction and it's already becoming the more economical alternative in many places in the world than other energy sources.
