It makes more sense to own 1 BTC worth of a good altcoin so that you can make more bitcoins. The idea of just holding your money in Bitcoin is for oldfags that bought Bitcoin when it was only a few hundred bucks. The ROI is so low compared to alts that it isn't really worth it.
