the ordinal issue is being exacerbated and leveraged specifically to court users into welcoming a hard fork, which will happen. the announcement will coincide an "ultimatum" from governments for the devs to either drastically reduce the bitcoin network's energy consumption, or be banned in all western nations. the response to this ultimatum has already been decided - it will move to a proof of stake model which will allow banks and elites, who have been accumulating this whole time, to finally take control of the network and solve their bitcoin problem.
