I can imagine what it's like to be treated by incompetent doctors, at least. My case is obviously much milder, but the ones I saw certainly didn't know fuck. I also have some brain damage (from drugs doctors put me on), though it only caused tinnitus, so it's not in the same ballpark.
I've tried everything in the book for it too, and some things made it better, nothing made it go away completely. The brain does have some ability to heal itself, but it's not like a muscle that just grows back.
