Just some land that I can live on with a few animals. But I live in the dystopian police state known as the UK, so most forest land is protected and can't be built on and planning permission never gets approved unless you have an obscene amount of money or influence, anyway.

The planning permission is nigh impossible to achieve here. Even living on your own land isn't permitted unless you meet a very strict criteria, depending on what kind of land it is. Money talks, would make everything easier, of course.

It is tragic. The worst part of it is that many in the west seem to have become accustomed to their prison cells and don't know any different, many people even defend the prison we all live in and become confused or agitated when someone brings to light all the bullshit, the lack of freedom. All I want is to be left alone, on my own land, tend to animals and develop my property, live a simple life, doesn't feel like I want that much, but there's a barrier infront of me wherever I look.

Really is. In Europe, governments have become total control-freaks, trying to regulate every aspect of everyone's life because it's "good governance" or "common sense". It's one of those problems that has no easy solution, so you're left with emigrating or maybe going to rural Scotland (though you know better than me whether that's workable).

I wouldn't even know where to go. Might look a bit deeper into Scottish law though, now you mention it, not sure if it is going to differ a tremendous amount but thanks for the reminder / suggestion.
