How the fuck do people that live alone get anything done?

My mom left for a week and im going throught:
1) Doing dishes
2) Cooking food (I don't even have to cook anything since I don't know how, my mom left all the foods in tupperwares, so I only have to put it in a pan and heat it)

Only these 2 steps already consume a ton of time. Imagine if I had to actually cook. I cleaned my room and this took like an hour of vacuum cleaning. Imagine if I had to clean the entire place and it's a small appartment.

And I work from home, so imagine if I had to commute and spend a ton of time outside.

Holy shit. The ideal lifestyle is really the twitch streamers one as in just ordering food from Just Eat and whatnot. And yes im going to buy a dishwasher. With the Just Eat and dishwasher lifehack I would gain back most of the time that is stolen from living alone.

The problem is to get the best Just Eat delivery coverage you have to live in place that's going to be above average expensive, but paying the extra rent should be worth it to have a selection of nice places to get chefs sending you food ready to eat.

If I had to cook I would literally never sit on the computer again. Just cook and clean dishes pretty much all day so there wouldn't be any productivity.

You're implying that all your time spent alone is valuable. In reality, probably like 80% of your time is wasted refreshing 4chan, youtube, and twitch. You'll get bored of it eventually. Cooking and cleaning are both very rewarding feelings and can easily kill an hour or two. You should try it.

Especially cooking something on the grill. Open flame. Only EBT blacks door dash like crazy since they are now allowing it on EBT/WICK. Disgusting sub creatures.

Yes, basic maintenance, including cooking, eating, cleaning, washing clothes, personal hygiene etc. probably takes about three hours per day on average (whether you're spreading it out or doing a lot of it on weekends), this is why wageslaves who work and commute for 9 or more hours complain about not having free time.
Cooking can be fun though and I'm starting to think that it should be normal for any man to be able to take care of himself and his apartment and develop the discipline to do it properly. If anything, it's the waging that should be more flexible.

Anon. Everything you described gets faster and easier the more you do it.
It's hard at first ... just like everything is.
But next time you vacuum it'll take like a half hour, or fifteen minutes, or five.

But yeah, if you're not used to doing a task, it's going to take a while at first.

You clean every day basically, make it a discipline, makes things easier. Then, do a larger clean of the general house once every two weeks. I am a clean individual so I don't have to clean so much. Laundry is easy : if you have a lot of clothes, you only have to do it once every two weeks to once a month.
I do spend more time cooking but as I've cooked more I've gotten faster. I often like baking food rather than cooking. with this, many times you can make the food then refrigerate (like dough) and then continue later or the next day. anyways like this anon said, >>53619715, you get faster at doing it. but it is important not to spend too much time. For example, a lot of people do way too much laundry even though they have a lot of clothes. They wash things they wore once. I have read and known people who do laundry 1-3 times a week or even more when they don't need to.
Now, I am a white person who apparently has the lucky gene known more in Asians of the non-smelling, sweatless armpits, so I guess I'm lucky, but still, unless they're your work clothes and you're sweating a lot, you can wear garments ( i am not talking about underwear) for up to 3-5 times before they're dirty (plus, you rotate them, so if you have a lot of clothes they become refreshened).

Most of the time I make food for 2 days. I heat the leftovers the second day which cuts cook time in half. It's more affordable to cook for two than for one as well.
Don't let your house get messy. I fucking hated cleaning at my parents home since there was stuff everywhere and I would have no idea where things should be and end up just moving it from position A to B to A while cleaning, but my floor takes less than ten minutes to vacuum all of it because I don't keep a mess.
>I think having a dishwasher would improve my times a lot tho.
Get a dishwasher if you're not third world tier broke, my sink was broken for a month and the dishwasher connected couldn't be used so I had to wash my dishes in the bathroom and it fucking sucked. Now I just quick rinse and put in the machine. Since you live alone you probably wont turn it on that often, I still wash the knife, spatula and frying pan manually so I won't need to use the dishwasher every day. Very nice for getting rid of a lot of plates cutlery and glass at once though.
Just keep going anon, it'll be routine pretty quick. I'm glad I moved out and have to do this stuff now. It's just different when it's your own home and not your parents.

I once had to impose such measures upon a house full of men who were using the same dirty dishes and utensils for weeks on end instead of cleaning them, after it got to the point of not being able to use the sink to clean my own dishes.
There was a group discussion about it and the three of them yelled at me and threatened to kick me out (they didn't have the right lol) for refusing to share the responsibility of cleaning up after them. Went through a clean cycle before once again degenerating to similar conditions, at which point I threw away every dish in the house and gave them stacks of paper and plastic.
Quality of life massively improved after that, because the idea of cleaning other parts of the house was less daunting to them when there wasn't a rotting pile of dishes to worry about

Bulk preparing means you are going to be eating the same thing a lot of times. Ordering online allows you more variance beside saving time.
Cooking should be something pleasant, not something you stress over because you are consuming a lof ot time doing it.

When I moved out of my parents. Shit got done. The best part was shit got done and my mom wasn't fucking bitching about it the whole fucking time.
If I ever moved back in with my parent I would shoot myself.

its a matter of preference. Since i lift weights i have to keep track on what im eating. Its a form of discipline too.
But yeah as a normal person ordering food would be preferable because of variety.

Are you lifting to gain weight?
Im skinny so I don't really have to keep track of anything. I would just eat a bit more of what im already eating to compensate the exercise.
The thing is, I would like how to cook, but I would need to supplement with it ordering online, so I have enough free time sometimes to cook instead of being stressed about how I have to cook all the time. And there may be stuff that you just can't order online and have to cook if you want to eat that. Like a fried egg for instance.

You can get a dishwasher super cheap from facebook marketplace or craigslist. I got one for free and the only prob with it was the prior owner was too stupid to realize there were little bits of plastic and food chaff on the sprayer wand.

Maybe you are just fucking retarded? Maybe you have mental problems.
I can work 10 hours a day and do chores when I get home while lifting weights.
How fucking dumb are you?

My gf doesn't do shit. And if she does clean it's always a half assed quick wipe down and never fully cleaned so I have to do all the deep cleaning unless I want to live in squalor.
>let sheets go months to see if she'll do them since that doesn't bother me

You fuckhead. Doing dishes and cooking food takes like, maybe 40 minutes of time, max. Cooked food at home always tastes better than takeout, so it's rewarding as fuck, and the feeling of not being a lazy shit like you is also a pretty sweet reward.

This, but only if you bulk buy the paper plates and stuff at Sams Club. I bought like $100 worth of bulk paper plates, bowls, cups, and plastic utensils in 2021 and I'm not even halfway through them yet as of 2023. Now compare that $100 in disposable cutlery to the operating costs in electricity, water, time, and money for using a dish washer. I've come out so far ahead that I don't even bother to own a dishwasher now. And since I live rural I'm not stuffing the septic tank full of dishwater now either.

I burn all my garbage too so disposal is free as well. I literally just spent $100 in 2021 on paper plates and stuff and that was the end of it, no more expenses related to dishes at all. Its great.

Air fryers are great, they are just convection ovens that don't need to preheat and are generally quicker to get into than an oven as well.

With a normal convection oven you have to open the little door, peer in, and then remove the cooking tray with oven mitts. With an air fryer you can just pull the whole cooking tray out with a handle, observe the food in actual light, and either shove it back in to cook more or dump the food right onto a plate when done. Great for a single guy to cook tendies and fries without any of the mess or obesiety of a conventional deep fryer.

dude you couldn't even walk at one point yet you learned
you can do this and you can easily set things up so you can watch your streams while cooking/doing dishes
it's just a necessity, are you going to complain about having to breathe and sleep too?
if you do get rich enough to just buy food for the rest of your life, great, just make sure you have an emergency supply of stuff in case supply lines ever go awry temporarily (in which case you'd have to "cook" and "clean" in a different sense since restaurants may close)
