I spent some time in the studio and just hanging out with aspiring rappers. They usually don't make any money for the time that they put in at first. It's like anything. Learning instruments, or languages, or writing, or painting, sports etc. You're putting a stupid amount of time and resources in because you're passionate about it. There's like a 1% chance that you maybe make enough money at it that it was worth all the time and energy.
