yeah and I tell myself im investing in my future instead of throwing it away on rent but it feels like I'm throwing it away in either case because I can literally see the number go down

I alternate between making my parents pay for when we go out to eat and paying for myself depending on whether Im making gains or not in the market. then i buy a nice used car for 15k and they wonder where im getting the money but i never say anything and they buy me dinner because they think i must be close to broke (no job)

I just dumped all my income from my first few years waging into parents mortgage offset account to help them with interest payments. Now I'm branching out and have a 5 fig portfolio of microcaps that fluctuate wildly so 1 day I can feel rich and the next I feel poor. My dad took a look at one of the charts I followed and saw the red -68% and volatility spikes, mcap of $300k and just frowned and walked away. Don't worry dad it will work out...I hope
