I work at WMT and our particular store was among the district highest for profitability last year. We have a small town but tons of transient traffic due to being near a resort. Most of our growth was in the grocery/online segment, but I am not sure how much of that was due to inflation. I think we're getting our max bonus payout this year, though.
So while WMT isn't a food company per se, a lot of its profits is coming from that sector, and it's a pretty good defensive stock in general. Small divvy payout, consistent share buybacks every quarter.
