Just tried to get a bag of copper coins from two different banks. They didn't have any, none at all, and said I had to ask 24hrs beforehand. Understandable for a large order of several kilos maybe but I told them I just needed a single bag of £1 worth in either 1p or 2p for change for a car boot quickly and they still didn't budge. If it makes you feel any better, I did much of the layout and mockups designs for that coin after the two lead artist quit early on. I was totally going to lurk and buy without influencing the project, but it looked to be on the verge of failing at the time so I stepped in to help. I did watch ponies when it aired, and was aware of it's culture but not part of it until now, so I'm not sure if they'd disapprove if they knew. But anyways, it's probably the last meme coin I'll have a part in helping design since open crowd source design is no longer done here, and I'm burnt out from all of it. The forced vacations from here at the time for the news was a significant part of the reason why I was lurking there as much as I did, so the mods can be thanked/blamed for that. I did put my upmost autizmo for 8 months into that coin, so I'm hoping it's the most detailed coin design to date. Still waiting for mine to arrive so I can see. Osborne greatly exaggerated the detail level they can achieve, but still the coin looks great from the photos I've seen.

As to Osborne's detail level, the left side handlebar on the cart is sort of gimped at the top, they did that in the render. The Castle in the background is a lot lower detailed than what we gave them. The general shapes of the tower tops weren't even so blobby. All in all not that terrible given the size of the coin IRL, but they promised a lot better. The worse though is the lower left of the shield to the left of the dirt mound, that is supposed to be a latin word hidden there as an easter egg. Osborne promised it to be readable even before we increased the size significantly just to be sure, and it's still not that readable. >>>/mlp/39588604 . Not to mention all the numerous and blatant screwups they kept doing during the renders.

But I digress, all in all I'm pretty pleased with how it's turned out in the end with what I've been seeing in the pics so far. It's just hard to judge depths from pics though, like this pic >>>/mlp/39599670 from an angle you can see more of the depth of the stars on the shield. And this video of the rim text is good too >>>/mlp/39588396 , though I think Osborne was inconsistent with only making one of the "U" and "V".

I think we've really push Osborne to their detail level limit though. Other mints probably can do better, but they're probably more expensive, and at least for the moment it seems like we don't use anybody other than Osborne except whoever was used for the Aputannia who did a poorer job. Somebody should really test out another mint to see if they could do better.

I want to also thank you and Lunar, I could see all the hard work you two were doing during the course of the project, but were taking a lot of flak on the voting and such. I want to apologize if there were any hard feelings when we may have butted heads while I was being critical of the mint during the rendering process for their repeated screw ups. I was only trying to safeguard the integrity of our design, and probably stubbornly at that. It all seemed to have worked out in the end, and I'm glad everybody seems happy and content with the results. It was quite the epic journey together though.

I'll be honest here: I am extremely thankful you've kept being so adamant about Osborne's fuckups and trying to steer us on the right track. Especially considering they fucked up the coin orientation, despite us REPEATEDLY mentioning that to them.
