I drove 50 miles outside my city to take a look at the 200k rural house I had my eye on.
The first thing that hit me was the roads looking tiny, you can't even drive fast on those shitty rural roads.
The second thing was the smell of shit, because farmers have been putting shit on their fields. How can I show my face to my investor in the city smelling like shit because I bought a rural house?
The third thing was mold and decay all around the house. The house should be worth 70k at best and 20k for the land underneath if you dismantle it. Who is the guy kidding listing a house that I need to spend 50k+ on to make it livable?

I always wanted to work on a farm but the pay is dog shit considering how hard the work is. Seems like you need to be born into it and inherit a farm to make any type of decent living. It's all Mexicans doing the paid labor.

I am originally from the rural side of Poland, where live really felt rural. There were sheep and cows and everyone has a property where the next neighbour's house is at least 50m away, mostly much more. You could do whatever you wanted, since noone besides you r family members is around.

Then my parents moved to my mother's country that is Germany and due to work related reason I had to move to a rural town and it is like living in a city but not at the same time. Every fucking house is built so close to each other, that there is social control anywhere. You can't even whisper without your neighbour hearing it. It made clear to me why Germ-Autists are so keen on rules. You have to have rules if you live that close. God I hate rural Germany
