Do you think crypto can still become a working market without btc? Or do you think if btc dies, which isn't looking very unlikely at the moment, everything else dies with it. I'm thinking about moving all funds straight to ETH

It would drag down the whole market, totally crash it, but after a brief mourning period of a few hours, people will realize that they can trade other currencies without BTC just fine. The exchanges could even simply replace BTC with BCH and keep going. I'm using ETH for all intents and purposes anyway.

Do what you want OP, I would tell you to go into xlm because even if BTC, BCH, and ETH crashed, the team is working to bring lumens to normies and banks alike.

for as long as BTC is the main pairing on exchanges we need it

Bitcoin crashes and everyone abandons it regularly? When was the last time that happened anon?

Yes. It has to happen eventually. And the market will be more healthy afterwards, since there is no monolithic dinosaur whose hickups drive down all other coins anymore.

I don't know anon, it looks like Monero still has a large and growing market. Ethereum and Ripple will probably survive, too.

yeah I don't think it will all die at once

when Ripple and another coin also bubble and burst, it becomes a problem

November, when it "crashed" from 7500 to 5500.
Before that in May when it "crashed" from 2700 to 2000.
And before that in March when it "crashed" from 1250 to 900.
And before that in January when it "crashed" from 1150 to 750.

Note how they're all in the range of 25% to 35%.
I'm not saying this trend will keep going forever, but you should also know that on all these occasions the doomsayers have proclaimed the death of Bitcoin. Not even mentioning anything prior to 2017.

Don't tell the Normies about that... You'll encourage them to stay. Just let them come back a year later when the bubble is about to burst again
