The fact that Yum! Brands and more specifically Taco Bell isn't more valuable is a travesty in management. I look at Taco Bell and think about how retarded they are for not directly competing more against Chipotle. Chipotle has dominated the fast casual side of restaurants with nearly no competition for years now and I think Yum if they were smart would make the move to compete.
Restaurant attitudes have changed and customers want real food, quick, and with a semi-appearance of being healthy. Yet the geniuses over at Taco Bell keep coming out with these cheesy beefy dorito crust tacos and not doing shit. I realize that a substantial percentage of their business is generated from fat fucks but I believe that they are missing out on a substantial portion of marketshare/growth from the trends in Gen Z and late millenials.
Everywhere you look on social media people are into bodybuilding, bashing seed oils, bashing trash food, and generally being more health conscious. Taco Bell therefore should start making protein burrito bowls and change some of their marketing to target this growing trend. Ultimately they should try to shed their reputation of being cheap shit pink slime to accommodate new growth from the more health conscious.
More and more customers order food online and if they saw on their delivery apps that Taco Bell has something like a burrito bowl that looks healthy enough, more people would be willing to give it a try which could potentially lead to more growth.
It seems like an opportunity to take some steam out of Chipotle and a good opportunity for an emerging market.

Thoughts?

Taco Bell is built off the back of shitty gimmicky products, but it works because everyone has their own gay little favorite. McDonald's successfully pulled off a menu shrink because no one gave a shit they stopped serving salads or Angus Mushroom Swiss 1/3 pounder burgers. People like to shit on the Travis Scott meal for just being a burger and some nuggets, but it successfully pivoted the menu to be leaner and simpler.

Meanwhile when Taco Bell tried to menu shrink everyone started shitting and pissing their pants. Opening up petitions to save the soggy tostada called a "Mexican pizza" and shit. Yum Foods is defined by this shit and there is no pivot available to them without alienating their customer base and no Chipotle regular would make the switch at this point. They dug themselves a hole and now they're stuck there.

i think they would rather just acquire a new brand to serve that part of the market, and then over time convert existing taco bells to that new branding if it does well - or really even just close taco bells and sell off older locations/end those leases and build new construction or remodels for the new brand

yum! recently acquired Habit Burger which was a local san diego chain for a long time, and now they're expanding it rapidly, because it's at a premium price point relative to cheap fastfood - its basically exactly what youre talking about although it doesnt have the health thing so much

if i were them i would jump on Bubbakoo's Burritos, new jersey chain that's basically doing what you're saying - seems to be expanding rapidly as it is, and doing quite well - and they also run wing & burger delivery ghost kitchens out of every location because they smart

Your last paragraph kind of hits the nail on the head. The management at Yum has dug themselves into this hole by not anticipating the change in customers taste and expectations. I'm not saying that they should get rid of the goyslop items yet they should make more of an effort to try to win over some of the lifting bro crowd that sees Chipotle as the king of quick clean eating. They have a price advantage because they have lower quality standards and there is no reason they shouldn't try to siphon that marketshare. I'm a wagie restaurant fag that sees the way customer tastes are changing and the industry definitely is switching to the Chipotle model of real food, fast, and relatively cheap (with customers willing to pay a small premium for real food).

i'm on the edge of zoomer/millennial

when i first started, there were mostly millennials a few years older than me doing it - they had a good eye for "classic vintage" like band tees and college sweatshirts and shit but like, who the fuck doesnt recognize that shit when you see it?

what they were missing was stuff like fisherman sweaters, random cheapo cashmere sweaters from kohls, random company jackets with funny names, idk, just stuff that might not obviously stand out as sellable, but where i made probably 90% of my money. i would rather sell 5 sweaters for $30 than one band tee for $150 because theres a lot less chance of some autist going nuts because i missed a stain on the back of it. not saying you missed that stuff but all the millennials around me were just chilling unless they saw some obvious vintage-store vintage shit. they werent trying to innovate in terms of what was sellable or could be made sellable - like for example, i didnt invent the cropped polo shirt, but for a good six months i was the only one selling them online in any quantity. ez fucking money with a pair of scissors. zoomers are dumb.

i took a break for about a year or so around covid, and when i went back, all the millennials were gone and now the people grabbing for the vintage were mostly younger than me

i also autistically posted guides and answered questions on how to make money from vintage on 4chan & lolcow for a few months during the time i was away, and then when i went back, all the people seemed kinda like channers and femcels so idk, i mightve caused some things to happen

I will present to you the bear case for natural gas, not trying to convince you to take a position either way - I have no position - presenting solely as trying to share what a natural gas bear would say
>this is the #1 most important:
https://www.hellenicshippingnews.com/drastic-shift-in-natural-gas-outlook/
>Assuming Europe does not experience a prolonged cold spell in the current heating season, the region should exit the 2022/23 winter with storage above 50% full. This is significantly higher than the 26% seen at the end of the last heating season and above the five-year average of 34%.
having storages 2x last year, 1.5x longterm averages means that there is a huge surplus of supply. not only is this surplus of supply suppressing prices now, but the higher storages make it much easier to fill them by next winter, a lot of months to refill them = less stress on supply, they have until november to fill to 80%, and they'll already be at 50%
>this is the #2 most important
https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2023-02-01/mild-february-will-help-extend-europe-s-gas-storage-buffer
the weather. it has been an extremely warm winter (resulting in storages being more full) and it is likely to continue to be warm based on heating degree days estimates
not only is the weather in Europe very warm, it is very warm in the US and Asia. There have been cold spells that create fear - but they've all cleared up in less than a week; there has been a lot of fear about the weather suddenly getting cold this whole season, and it has never materialized
the weather is the most important decider for natural gas - if you believe that you can predict future weather greater than individuals with access to the top weather data / their own proprietary models it is a difficult market to create an edge in

In 2020 Oil prices were approaching sub-zero and it was a shitshow. That was the time to buy
Recently shipping prices were absolutely shitting the bed. Most shipping stocks were down huge. That was the time to buy (see ZIM recently) and most of you missed it.
Next will be Natural Gas stocks. They will be down an insane amount. Wait until midway through summer.

Fuck you.

its just that having 1 bubbakoo and 1 taco bell in a town would be so much better than 2 of either due to "illusion of choice"

for the ultimate example (that i know of anyway), look into Big Burrito Group - its a pittsburgh based company that owns like 50+ restaurants but almost all of them are under different branding from each other while serving a lot of the same ingredients - same steak, different sauce basically.

theres way more than shown here and many of them are in the same cuisine category - for example Mad Mex has like 5 or 6 locations, but its an older style table-service restaurant, and of late they've just been opening a bunch of "independent" taco shops under various names - Bul River Taco, Paco's Tacos, etc like that - that are just counter service

ive literally heard people talk about like "oh should we go to bul river or paco's" which is hilarious because they're literally the exact same fucking place owned by the exact same company with different decor.

theyre also able to shuffle around employees as needed between their various properties which gives them more flexibility vs independent restaurants

i kind of hate it because it takes even the notion of "quirky independent restaurant" away from independent restaurants lol

When Chipotle can give you an 10 dollar burrito with the perception that it is more real than the slime they serve at Taco Bell even the poors go there. Literal retards that work the lines at Chipotle look like shell-shocked soldiers because Chipotle is so damn busy. YUM should at least try to get some of those customers back. Interesting. Really my point isn't necessarily about Taco Bell but rather about competing against Chipotle. There is such a huge market for real food, quick, and cheap that a competitor has to show up. I had an idea about a Mediterranean style Chipotle after going to a restaurant in Charlotte that basically is exactly that. You get your pita or bowl and build it down the line with feta, olives, hummus, schwarma, etc. It was incredible and definitely could give Chipotle a run for their money.

Oh don't get me wrong, the rest of your advice isn't great either. You're the kind of Dunning-Kruger trader who's been around for 6 months, caught a few moves and now you think you have perfect reasoning and can predict all future events. Cocky as fuck after making $10k in profit or some shit. Eventually you'll all in something retarded and blow it up.

Natural gas (henry hub) is fucked as long as freeport is closed and as long as Shale oil production stays strong plus becomes increasingly gassy as they slowly shift to their lower tier wells. Importantly, the futures curve still implies decent forward pricing for NG, and stocks haven't sold off much yet.
European natural gas could easily bounce back, however.

ZIM is/was a solid bounce play. Personally I've been selling puts. It has nothing to do with some imminent turnaround in the container industry though. Just purely a bet on ZIM trading below cash and having excessive short interest with limited remaining downside. Based on upcoming containership deliveries and the fact that we've come out the other end of this bullwhip in demand + deliveries from the covid lockdown era, it could be 3-5 years before we see anything truly bullish in container shipping. Dry bulk has much more potential, although stock valuations don't support entering any trades until the data there actually turns positive.

As for SKYT, it's already been explained why it's not a great idea. Not saying you can't trade it, but this long term outperformance your pushing just isn't going to happen. One year from today, it'll be worth less than $12. You can quote me on that.

A song to bobos:

You're a mean one, Mr. bobo.
You're a fugly, piece of shit.
You bring bendy straws to bathrooms because you like the taste of piss, Mr. bobo.
I wouldn't suck your dick if it was covered in honey and could cure cancer.
Also you have no dick.
You're a dipshit, Mr. bobo. Even babies want you dead.
You've never brought home a woman, because you're scared you'll wet the bed Mr. bobo.
The three words that best describe you are as follows, and I quote: "Bitch, Dumpster, Bitch".
You're poor, Mr. bobo.
You can't afford the bus. You're deathly allergic to tree nuts and your exact address is this, Mr. bobo.
1482 Mt Crumpet Blvd, Anonville, Michigan. I mailed your bitch ass a bag of nuts.
It's just a test that you are inbred, Mr. bobo.
You don't know how to read.
I cannot stress enough how much you like to suck down pee, Mr. bobo.

According to an anonymous poll the sample size of over 3,000 Anon's who were asked to
rank you on a scale of 1-100 based on traits such as: Likeabilty, General Odor, and Physical Attractiveness
The highest number we got was 3!

unfortunately i think chipotle is already losing out to blander options like Piada in the zoomer market

when i was in college 10 years ago, most people were getting burritos at chipotle, mostly with the works - veggies, lettuce, beans, etc

now when i'm in line behind a zoomer at chipotle, its almost guaranteed that they are gonna bet a "bowl," and its also almost guaranteed that all theyll get is meat, rice, sour cream and cheese - no veggies & usually no hot sauce.

caring about ingredient cuality & organic food & nutritious food is a millennial thing to be honest

zoomers instead talk about "clean food", which sounds to millennials like you & like the same thing as organic, but its really not. they just mean that it has "clean vibes." basically, white claw is peak this. completely artificial but "clean."

and thats a small minority of zoomers anyway. picrel is what papa johns added to start serving the zoomer market that doesnt even like to get their hands dirty by picking up a slice of pizza. literal slop in a bucket

There are actually a gazillion natural gas tickers, I just named Cheniere at random and have done no actual research.

hey question, did you order online or go in person?

every time i order online i get a dinky ass burrito

but every time i go in person and tell them the ingredients one by one, i get a massive honker of a burrito

i think its just that when theyre looking at the whole ingredient list at once from an online order, they know its a burrito with 8+ things on it so they minch on them to make it easier to fold

but when you go in person, and you just say rice, beans, chicken, cheese, as you get to each station down the line, they dont know how much youll end up getting, so they give you a big scoop of everything.

it might honestly be in their employee directions to give more food to people who are standing there watching, it would make sense

I'm a cheap fag. To me, Panera is walmart tier frozen shit served in a Hampton Inn space.
I love the space for coffee shop and atmosphere. The food is meh and overpriced.
