Monero is a private coin, right?
Nobody can see transactions other people made, right?
So why can't I say some random dude send me Monero on my wallet and I've decided to send it to an exchange and withdraw it to my card?
Why would I have to pay taxes if I didn't invest anything?

There's a sneaky little tax for that as well, gift tax

But isn't gift tax less than taking note of every single transaction you've made, every deposit and withdrawal? every trade you've made?
Just calculate gift tax once and that's it

All of that assumes you are on an ramped exchange that supports xmr. Most have to go to a dex or use swappers. Since my exchange doesn't support xmr, I just send & buy stablecoin to my ramp. the elites had the chance to play nice, and they fucked it as usual.
