I’m scared. I’ve always been the good one with money. I am unironically making bank on esports betting using units, up 50% in a month, but then go waste it on blackjack. I can’t stop myself. I am ruining my finances. Any advice. I’m tuc

You're not good with money if you spend it like a retard. You're just coping with the fact that you're a degenerate. I would advise you speak with a therapist.

It's impulse control. If not hammered home before the teen years it's pretty much over.

Except I was. When I graduated I had 27k in my brokerage accounts. What bothers me the most is that I know how free esports betting is, the oddsmakers legit suck at it. I know if I could resist the degen stuff I'd do so well. It's depressing.

The time isn't the issue at all. It's the opportunity to. My brain will ruminate on it until I give in. idk. It's miserable. I feel out of control for the first time in my life. I never thought I'd do something like this in a million years yet here I am.

Most gambling addicts are addicted to losing. They need to feel their world crashing down on them.

Have you tried gambling with smaller amounts? Games at the casino are designed to take your money. If you're extremely good at counting cards and practice, you can have maybe some sort of edge in blackjack. But you need to be professional level literally.

You clearly know sports and you're good at that. Just bet on esports. If you want to play blackjack, try to set limits for yourself. Never use more than 10% of esports winnings to be on blackjack, etc. Go to the casino with 100 or 200 bucks in your pocket, leave all cards at home.

You’re wrong bro. As a fellow gambling addict my best advice is to just don’t do it. Every time you get the urge to gamble just think about what other cool shit you could be doing. $5k is a lot of money. Wouldn’t have been cool to book a flight to Asia and travel around with no plan for a couple months instead. Essentially do that next time you want to gamble. Book a flight to Asia instead. Same dopamine hit but better.

Actually good advice. It sucks that it kinda ruined my love of esports and sports too. Cause now everytime I do that which I love, I just want to gamble. Thanks man. Stay strong.

How the fuck are people actually addicted to GAMBLING?

I'm a sports bettor and I predominantly bet arbitrage. If I'm not +EV there's no way I'm playing, and that's why I'm banned from like 15 sports books. How the fuck do you not have the impulse control to say no to -EV games?

You don't get it man. Some people can't get enough of the rush that they could be ruined or made on the next outcome. I find that part stressful as fuck but there really are people who get off on it

you need to get up like 20,000 in one night and then lose it all over the course of 30 mins maybe i dont know. watch the twilight zone episode the fever. I personally was fairly addicted to gambling at one point and got "up" this amount and then lost it very quickly.

what stopped me from ever gambling or wanting to gamble after that was the realization that every single roll is negative expected value and that while I could have profited if I had stopped when I was up so much, I never would, and there is no winning strategy. its just financial suicide. dont even cope with esports betting just get a fucking job and invest in something
