I unironically thought I missed my one chance in 2015, I had heard about BTC and had even tried mining it in 2011 before giving up because it made my room hot and my computer fans were loud at 100%, and syncing took forever and used up all my hardrive space. Didn't really understand how it was better than runescape gold so I forgot about it until I heard it climb to a thousand dollars. Then it crashed down to a few hundred dollars and kept trending down for a full year and I thought it was over, that I missed my one chance.
But when I saw it cross 1k again in 2017 I knew there was something more and I've been buying ever since.
The tech is cool and all, and I like the idea of it as regulatory arbitrage, but I've come around to the idea that it's the ultimate self-sustaining ponzi. There's always value in an asset like this that's cross border and nothing with nearly the same level as name recognition, and the speculative bubble always draws in more and new money, and more people are being born to buy into it, and as wealth disparity grows more and more people will dive into more risky plays as their only chance at wealth, which will further fuel next speculative bubbles.

Maybe now is different since interest rates are actually going up but I think cheap money is just another self-sustaining ponzi that banks are too addicted to, so it'll always eventually come back. Opportunities for generational wealth with no effort will always be around if you keep an eye out and know how to spot them.
