The cost savings pay for the membership over its course. If you spring for the executive membership, it's cheaper than the entry level. If you're buying bigger shit like computers or furniture, its free money. And the return policy? Don't even get me started. I bought a bed and returned it a year later for a firmer one.

idk costco is pretty based. saves you money just by stocking up on household items that aren't even food related (garbage bags, toilet paper, etc) but I always get a bunch of stuff to freeze as well. it's not the best food out there but I'll always stock up on ingredients for meals. also just stay away from the scams. plus you get 2% back annual on your purchases in a coupon

Costco is pretty great. Their products are typically higher quality than Sam's Club or BJ's. Generally speaking they lower the barrier of entry to costlier items that usually upper middle class/wealthy would purchase. They also have a great returns policy and offer other bonuses to members.

There's really nothing wrong with the business model, it's essentially a membership to a shopping club.
