I am unironically now a bitcoin maxi. Lightning network solves all transaction time and privacy issues. Give me your best anti-bitcoin arguments.

Then you don’t understand Lightening. It’s extremely limited and centralized.

why is defi going to fail? aren't lending services and other transparent financial services run by code a good idea?
I think bitcoin is very important and will grow more and more but I don't see why everything else should fail

yes you can say ethereum is 80% OFAC compliant and captured and not decentralised but most defi protocols are going to be made multi-chain compatible and at least one smart contract layer one is going to be decentralised and not do a VC premine.

lightning seeks to solve the Byzantine Generals routing problem, the very problem that bitcoin solves. Except lightning does it unreliably. The way it works is that it randomly tries many routes until it finds on that works. As the network increases in size, this approach fails.
Lightning is funded by layer 1 which can at most handle 7 transactions per second. For mass adoption this will take decades to move funds into lightning.
With the majority of transactions occuring on lightning there is no transaction fees for the miners and no incentive for them to process transactions.
Bitcoin is designed to facilitate peer to peer transactions without the need for a middleman, lightning is that middleman, its hub and spoke model centralises control of the network emulating our current banking system.
Only fools think BTC is still bitcoin and only the most easily duped think lightning will work.
Let me guess, you got into bitcoin after 2014, after the mass censorship. Your entire knowledge on bitcoin is plucked from curated censored sources that allow just one opinion to exist, and you naively beleive this false reality to be true.
Read the whitepaper, you clearly haven't.
