Gm sirs. It would appear that my shares in the internet computer (ICP) are appreciating in value.

Yeah, fuck off. Really.

Most of these things are works of art. You had highly competent people that were burning for the thing they created. Just take the quake 3 light reflection function as an example. These people poured their souls into these games.

I pitty zoomers like you.

yeah man. there's low poly games but with a good story were literal works of art. there's this old ass game called Bugs Bunny and Taz: Timebusters. that shit was just beautiful, no esg score or agendas or ads. it even had a multiplayer where the screen would split in half, meant to play with your physical buddy at the same PC. that world is gone now.

yeah that game was pretty based, think I played it on playstation one. can easily recall the difficulty of jumping from box up to box and the camera rotation being weird. first level was something on the docks or something?

Zoomers will never understand
They think they do but they don't
They really don't
It was only "us" on the internet
The nerds, the tech inclined, NEETs
Girls used the internet to write a blog about their day and then they went back to the real world
The idea of sitting on the internet all day was foreign, people still didn't feel like they had the ever encompassing right to know what you are doing at any point in time
There was no TikTok or rapid fire dopamine apps
Even you, yes you reading this post, you probably wouldn't have been on the internet either if this was 2004
The nostalgia is so strong because it's like a desire to relive a different era of society
Zoomers will literally NEVER understand, that the core of society at this point in time (mid 2000s) was simply, not the same. They say "yeah yeah I know what it was like" but they don't. They actually don't. They were too young to understand the world was different and by the time they were teenagers we were already on the other side of the shift.
That's why the nostalgia for that era is so so so strong. It's not just that we want to relive our youth, we want to return to that era. The transition between the 90s and the world we are in today. That transition period was simply, the greatest time to be on the internet, likely of all time,.
