Can someone explain the following to me, its about bank deposits and loans:

I've read somewhere that when I deposit money, lets say $1000, into my savings account the bank usually loans it to another person or company. Due to the fractional reserve requirement the bank has to keep a certain percentage of what I deposited in reserve. Now comes the part I dont understand, I've read that the Bank lists the money they have lent out as an asset because they're collecting interest on that money. But "at the same time, an equally large amount is listed as a liability in their book. This is because the newly created money is now in circulation and because much of it will show up at other banks, which will at some point submit the originally issued check to the issuing bank as a monetary claim."

I dont get it. why would the money they've lent out be a liability when the debtor owes to the same bank. wouldnt it just cancel each other out leaving the one who deposited the money in the first place with empty bags?

The loan isn't an asset for them because they're collecting interest. It's an asset because it's a contract for future cash flow (interest + principal). They COULD sell that loan to someone else for the current value of that future cash flow.
I think the liability that text is referring to is the liability to the depositor (You) who can ask for that money back as cash at any time (or ask the bank to transfer it to another account, either their own or to pay a bill).
