Reminder to all the people STILL fudding Bitcoin in 2023 this is what you look like to me.

The use cases of the internet were fairly clear after the first 15 years.

Cryptocurrency is still purely speculation After 15 years

An NFT doesn't have to be pointer to a piece of art. It can be used for any kind of unique or fractional ownership. Imagine a music artist selling royalty ownership as NFTs of his song. perhaps each second is an NFT, then whenever excerpts are paid royalties, those persons are paid accordingly. A home deed can be an NFT. Any kind of ticket, perhaps to a theatre or concert, can be an NFT. Pointing to jpeg urls is pet-rock tier, but NFTs have digital transactional use cases. Market simply hasn't matured yet. Remember when e-commerce was a meme for the internet?

It's a solution looking for a problem.
>A home deed could be an NFT
You know what else a home deed could be? A home deed.
>A concert ticket could be an NFT
Or a concert ticket could just be a concert ticket, as they have been for 1,000 years, without some ridiculous infrastructure on the backend.
This is all just a stupid fucking make-work idea. It doesn't solve any problems that aren't already solved by something in the real world.

Modern day conveyancing is a fucking shitshow, you shouldn’t need a lawyer when it’s all boilerplate anyway. Digitally sign a smart contract and the house NFT changes owners simultaneously with the payment transfer and tax liability. Massive efficiency increase, conveyancing lawyers seething.

are you telling me that conceptually this was not possible before people assigned hash values to monkey images? or is it more likely that there are other ways to register digital ownership like this but no one has bothered because it isn't useful to own a second of a song (as opposed to just owning a share of the royalties, for which standard record keeping works perfectly fine)

You don’t have to explain shit to them You literally hand them some gaudy app called Sellr or some shit and tell them if they sign here their house is sold and it’s all done, and they say “oh my gosh that was easy, it used to take days”

I actually was on the (((redacted))) web a few years ago and came across a listing for a professional hacker.

The guy said he would do just about anything except for murder someone. But his specialty was ruining peoples lives, espionage, blackmailing, etc...one example he used was that he could plant cp on someones machine and use that to get them prosecuted serve jail time.

So, who knows...
