Do people actually think that "inflation going down" would mean that prices would also go back to previous levels?
Does the average person not realize that the effect of inflation is something that just stays forever?
It's like saying "the house will go back to normal once the fire dies down".
I can't believe that being robbed by x% of your lifes work every year is not something that is more present in everyones mind.

even better, inflation isn't under control.
the employment rate held strong despite major layoffs.
then the fed will continue to raise rates.
the markets will continue to crash.

Doesnt stay forever if you have deflation. Its just that deflation is rare. But here, prices are not going back to 2019 levels, probably ever.

To be fair, even if it gets brought up, the dumbshit argument of "it's greedy corpos and a fucked up supply chain" rather than increasing money supply is always trotted out.

They are not wholly harmful, but they become more so when the money supply tries to shrink in combination with a high debt levels.
The MBSs are bought because there's no market for them. If the Fed didn't buy these dubious products, there'd be mass defaults on loans collateralized by them. The Fed doesn't own the land, it just collects the monthly cash flows, most of which are at a fixed rate.

Of fucking course there is. I know it's hackneyed to bring up dystopias like 1984, and while we're living in a blend of just about every dystopic book/movie/game I can think of, redefining words is a cornerstone of thought shaping and control.

Even worse. People still believe that (((inflation))) is responsible for the price hikes (which are like 10-20x the official inflation).
