Seriously, nobody got laid off, nothing even really happened during “the Great Recession”. It was an unbelievably big nothingburger that was made into a big show because it impacted banks.

Most of us were kids during 07-09, there was nothing remarkable at all about that period. Nothing happened, my dad went into work like every other year in his career. So did all the parents of my friends and everyone at school.

“The Great Recession” was possibly the largest nothingburger in human history. Nothing even happened.

My dad was unemployed for some of it but wasn’t really a big deal and financial losses was really more from them just being dumb/greedy with money they made in the early 2000s boomtimes. This Covid inflation bullshit is prob a much bigger deal and will get worse
