It’s not a generational thing as much as learning to save with age.
My boomer parents used to preach these things to me. Now I save and conserve whole living by myself but my parents both spend tons of income on junk like food and impulse purchases

oh yeah man, definitely. I think that's what made me take so long to really examine my spending. I just assumed "$100k doesnt go as far anymore". I know damn well that 5 years ago at $100k, i'd be able to easily save thousands of dollars more each month with just the bare amount of diligence.

Also imagine you can save 100% of ur money every year and how long it will take to make it. I make 220k and save 6k a month. I drive an 09 mazda.
