Where are you located?

I have one and i have to say its a great hobby. Maybe not so in the us but here in europe you can find very cool stuff when looking at the right places. Medieval coins, arrowheads, roman stuff.....
But the truth is you need a lot of time since 95% of the stuff you find is trash. And the other 5% is mostly stuff in poor condition.
I dont do coin hunting at the beach/park.

i used to live on a farm in cornwall in england that probably had a saxon settlement under it because the fields were full of old coins
my grandad had a metal detector and had alot of fun finding things out there
if you can find a spot like that it could be very fun and even make you some money
