So here's my plan. I'm going to create a company and just put all my equity in as capital. The company will just be trading shares of whatever. I lie and say I make soap or something pozzed and issue shares and get more equity to invest. If I take losses, I get to write off for taxes. If I make a lot I rugpull and move to an island. I am a physicist by trade and the main service that I render is to push past long-lasting conceptual hurdles with new ideas that are correct. I also provide mathematical solution services such as my solution to RH and my derivation of the limits of sine and cosine at infinity (which need to be reworked before I can be extra-extra certain they are the correct limits.)

I also write and sell books. I have a novel on Amazon and another book about the Bible. If I can infer what OP is really asking about, however, then I will comment on "gainful employment." Firstly, I do make money of my books and I am gainfully employed as an author. The gain is meager but it exists. Secondly, gainful employment isn't about working, it's about getting paid. Gainful employment is not something you can do independently; someone has to sponsor you as the provider of your gain.

I worked at Lexis Nexis Risk Solutions in Alpharetta, GA 2015-2016. On the tour of the data center, the tour guy intimated to me that they were saving $50k/month on electricity by powering their data center with the free energy device that had been developed as a technological application for my theory of negative time in cosmology. My "gain" at Lexis Nexis was the pay they were giving me on the order $10^1/hour. This emphasizes that gain isn't about what you do. Rather, it is about what someone else does. Lexis Nexis determined that my gain should be about $10^1/hr and that wasn't even for helping them with their electricity bill; I had to sit in the cuck seat and be their office bitch for that pay on the order of $10^1/hr.
