People are very scared (like you are) of these sort of developments. Usually they look a lot worse than they are. Moreover, even if the utilities are poor, as long as you can make them look good you can sell it because housebuyers don't look into that.

The main job would be sorting heating but honestly that is much more intimidating that it really is to do (but it is my bread and butter so). I'd hate painting it all more than anything else: putting down floors is easy when you aren't doing the furniture shuffle and putting in a kitchen is also easy if you have enough muscles around to move the stuff.

HVAC is what I do it's easy. It's only a problem when you can't get your ducts in because of shit in the way but that wouldn't be an issue here. I don't know why people think mounting a unit and then running ducts is rocket science it's even easier than plumbing.

I don't know the region and I can't really appraise the property without that knowledge and I cba to look into it now. The building on it's own is not a bad development at all though it has almost all the things that are hard (no heating is bad) and the largely cosmetic things are all that are left which is where you can add huge value relatively easily.

You're just wrong and have clearly never worked on a house before. A brand new unit for a house that size wouldn't be more than $8k including ducts. You bitched about the median salaries in the area being shit, do you really think you're hiring 3 people for a full year to finish it?
