Student loans from the government? No. Not really. They're tax deductible and after like 15 years of payments, or something, you can just have them forgiven. So what you do if you're savvy and still young is to go abroad and work in another country. Then you take the FEIE on your tax return zeroing out your American "income" which then qualifies you for income based repayments of "0" dollars. Do that for a long time until the loans are forgiven. EZPZ. Yeah, it's fucking dumb. Yeah, it's unfair. And yeah, you need to actually live abroad for a long time to make it work but hey, fuck it.
Alternatively, if you have a shitty family and don't care about living in American anymore, you can naturalize to that country as a citizen, give up your US citizenship, and tell the IRS to fuck itself and not pay anything anymore. I didn't do that because I love my mom and family and have inheritance coming my way. But it's an option for others.
