If it’s very windy you can produce more than you actually need, or if it’s calm you don’t get anything at all, or anything in between. The power production and demand needs to be balanced continously, at the moment the main way is quick start gas or oil fired plants, the green solutions are very expensive. It's technology that isn't there yet being pushed by people that don't give a shit how good it is because they'll make money from the manufacturing process or get subsidy money.
