What are some of the best technical skills you can teach yourself to allow for steady, profitable self-employment? Things that don't involve strenuous physical labor. Are computer-centric skills like web design/programming the best bet? Or are there others?

Also drawing and photoshop skill are pretty useful if you need to make/save a couple of bucks here and there. I've have that need a good comic book artist and can't find one for under $50 a page.
