That's the Pena Palace in Lisbon, Portugal. I traveled as I considered moving there, but found the Portuguese to be off-puttingly lazy. I sat upon the wall and talked to a Norwegian kid that happened to also play CS:GO. Portugal was beautiful and relaxing, but quite boring. You niggers are absolutely retarded.
The cost of maintaining a mansion is abysmal, and do you know why even rich people build small rooms in cold climates? BECAUSE IT COSTS A FORTUNE TO HEAT IT. Also, enjoy being anally raped by taxes.
TL/DR
If you spend 10M to buy something + taxes (yes, taxes) you will need at less 100k a year just to maintain it clean, repair shit and prevent your cute garden for became an overgrown nightmare.

This is why most people who climb the social ladder end up poor again in their lifetime. They can't predict the cost over time of stuff they buy in a heartbeat since they had a poor upbringing.

Investing that boring I should be able to get $200-$250k/year which is enough to hire a maid and maintenance staff, and afford utilities/upkeep without any real worries. You can live a very cushy life in many areas here on $80-$100k/year before tax, so having 2-3x that would be extremely luxurious

10 million USD is not “fuck you” money. You are rich, but not enough to have that “millionaire” lifestyle you are thinking about. If you distribute your money well, it won’t even buy you a proper supercar like a Ferrari or Lambo.

10 million in passive money returns is around $35k net monthly income. You should be thinking buying a nice big residence with porsches or a high end german brand car with luxury trips with family and having your kids in good schools, dinner on “good” restaurants and that’s about it. Nothing extravagant such as having a yacht, jet, supercars , mansions or things like that. You need around 25m+ for that.

>No bitch $10 mill is fuck you money.
Fuck you money is a myth. It's a carrot that seems close enough that you can conceptualize it but never quite close enough to reach. When you actually have a few million you realize that you're not actually rich.

>Thinking I would put $5 million in a castle style home.
You can't afford a real castle on $10 million, much less $5 million. There are some old towers that used to be owned by knights or barons that you could conceivably buy, but you wouldn't call them a castle.

>How big of a house would you buy?
>in b4 use passive income on mortgage
>That is your legacy
You can't afford a grandiose legacy on ten million, and even if you could you won't have anything left. You can get a very impressive home for a few million, but nothing on the scale like you're imagining in the first world. You can buy an old manor home, or a villa someplace, fix it up, and run the farm there like you're old world gentry though. That's quite affordable.

>b-b-but no, ten million is fuck you money
I don't normal disillusion people of their fantasies, and if your fantasy is getting X amount of money and building a castle then you enjoy that.

Buy a house with half the money, or 70%; get into real estate; get a car I can comfortably lease for ride-sharing services or for personal commercial car trips, acquire the holoride retrofit connect it to the car and give passengers exciting car rides with gaming and productivity innit.

Real estate has a way of owning you. Big houses equal constant maintenance bills and become like a part-time job. You live you life just waiting to hire someone to fix the next thing that fails. Unless you're good with tools and enjoy fixing things - stick with something like a penthouse. Big cost for building maintenance etc, but it's just one charge and usually once a year or quarter. Plus places like that are more secure and you can lock it up for a year and go traveling and just come home to a bit of dust and birdshit on your balcony. Keep it simple.

10 mill is enough to attract the wrong people without being able to get rid of them easily and maintenance of the property has to be factored into the price.

A bit cumbersome and terribly expensive, if you're in the US even bullet-proof walls and normal security windows would be a huge step up from standard build-quality.

If you like secure building materials, look into geopolymeres (artificial but real stone), rather new (rediscovered) tech and possibly an interesting option in the future.
